Roofing Tiles

Roof tiles are used to protect roofs from rain, snow, and other precipitation. They can be made from a variety of materials, including clay, slate, concrete, glass, and plastic. Here are some things to know about roof tiles:

Clay tiles are a popular choice because they are lightweight and can withstand the elements. They have an absorption rate of only 6%, so they take in less water than concrete tiles. Slate tiles can require maintenance to prevent moss buildup, but clay tiles require little maintenance.

Roof tiles can be attached with screws or nails, or they can be designed to interlock and support themselves.

Concrete tiles typically last 35–50 years, but their lifespan depends on a number of factors, including the roof's location, how much moisture it's exposed to, and how well it's maintained.
